Your final arrangements may be for an earth burial, mausoleum crypt entombment, or cremation. The staff of Leon L. Williamson Funeral Home will assist you, step by step, with your selections as you make these very important decisions.

Caskets are required for ground burial or mausoleum crypt entombment. The selection of a casket for a loved one is a personal choice.

We offer an extensive selection of caskets in many styles, constructed with quality materials such as bronze, copper, steel, stainless steel, traditional wood and fine hardwood. There are also many choices of elegant finishes. The casket of your choice may be personalized as another expression of your loved one’s personality. We also offer caskets that are suitable for the interment of the deceased when viewings or services will not be held.   (See Video On The Right)

Burial vaults and grave liners are for earth burials. The State of Wisconsin does not require that you purchase a burial vault or liner; however, for many cemeteries, vaults or liners are required. The purpose of the burial vault or liner is to provide long-lasting protection to the casket as it deteriorates over time and to resist the earth’s elements and keep the earth from settling after interment. Neither burial vaults nor grave liners are designed to prevent the eventual decomposition of human remains.

Burial vaults surround the casket in concrete or another material and shelter the casketed remains of loved ones. The vault is placed in the ground before burial. The casket is lowered into the grave and the vault is sealed. Grave liners cover the top and sides of the casket and are made of reinforced concrete. The grave liner is placed in the ground before burial. The casket is lowered into the grave and the liner cover is then placed over the grave liner after committal.

A cremation urn is a finely crafted container to hold the remains of your loved one after cremation and perfect for remembering your loved one. An urn can be the focal point during a service, memorial or gathering. We have a large display of beautiful urns made of glass, bronze, ceramic and other tasteful materials, offered in many styles. Your selected urn may be personalized or engraved, depending on your wishes. The urn may be interred in a burial plot, placed in a mausoleum, or presented to a family member. We will listen to your wishes and assist you in your selection of an urn appropriate for the final disposition of your loved one’s remains.

For ground burial, an urn vault shelters the urn in which the remains of your loved one have been placed. As with burial vaults, an urn vault provides the long-lasting protection to the urn and resisting the earth’s elements and keeping the earth from settling after interment.

Should you wish to purchase a garment for your loved one, registry books, commemorative panels, additional thank you card (beyond the complimentary thank you cards that we will provide), or other accessories and adornments, we will assist you in your selection of these items which are available in our selection room.
